Here we are on launch day of WoD. It's impossible to tell exactly which stats will be our go-to stats as this will, invariably, change as patches hit. For now, I'm sticking with tried and true Mastery but I'm reading multistrike is better and that is something I will test at level 100 when my gear actually has multi-strike on it. For now, I'll avoid talk of stat choice and focus on rotation and talents.
Rotation for going ham in a sustained dps fight (perhaps raid boss):
Noteworthy: Draenor Perks
As we level to 100, we will get improved versions of some of our favorite spells. One of which is Improved Slice and Dice which causes SnD to be passively always active. Once learned, you can drop the fourth bullet from the list above. Also, comes Enhanced Vendetta. Upon learning this spell, I'd switch the rotation to drop line 4 and make sure to hit 5 combo points before using Vendetta and then hitting an Envenom.
Talent Wise: Most of the talents are situational or preference based. If you have a specific question about talents, please ask. Given the fact that our combo points are shared across targets and no longer lost when switching targets, I think Anticipation may be the strongest talent across the board for that tier for pve and pvp.
Things will change, including this post, as we gain more insight and experience with the changes of WoD.
Rotation for going ham in a sustained dps fight (perhaps raid boss):
- Pot, go Stealth and open with Ambush
- Rupture
- Mutilate
- Slice and Dice
- Vendetta
- Mutilate or Dispatch (when Blindside procs and full-time when target is below 35% health)
- 5-point Rupture
- 5-point Envenom
- Keep 5-pointing Envenom while Vendetta is still up
- Make sure to 5-point Rupture, as needed, to keep it up 100%
- Once Vendetta is over start energy pooling
- Now, only 5-point Envenom as the last Envenom ends. Don't clip your previous Envenom unless you're at full energy. Don't pool to full energy (hard to do anyway).
- Throughout your rotation use Vanish & Preparation:Vanish to get a free Ambush or Mutilate
